Getting ahold of a crappy laptop?

So I'm a member of freecycle, and craigslist sucks for my town (Richmond, IN) because the nearest is Indy, and I don't have a car. I'm looking for a pos laptop for the purposes of writing (poems, a book, etc) so all I need is Windows Word or Microsoft Works...Is there any place I can look for something like that? Preferably free or next to free, because I know something like that isn't worth very much. I basically want it for the mobility, so I can take my story with me wherever I go...
