Advice on how to talk to this guy in high school?

I've had a crush on this guy in my homeroom through all of grade eight, but I was too shy to talk to him. We're going to the same high school now. Do you have any advice in how to approach him/talk to him and when (there's a chance we won't be in any of the same cles together). Oh, and he doesn't have Facebook so I can't even talk to him online o_o
