Snowboards, boots, bindings?

im looking to buy a new snowboard and was considering the burton custom. However i wear a size 11.5-12 boot and was riding on a GNU wide board. With burton would i be able to get away with a normal width board with the same size bindings and boots? Im looking to remove some of the weight with the board? if not burton then what would work?
